I hope you all had a great Labor Day weekend! Did you happen to see the Hugo Awards last night? If not, that’s okay. I tried watching it, but between my wonky internet and the stream going down, I only managed to see bits and pieces. Still, it was a pretty awesome event. I really wish I could have been there. If you’re interested in who won, here’s a link. Congratulations to all the winners and nominees!
Let’s see… What other news do I have for all of you? First off, huge apologies if you’ve tried to contact us and haven’t heard anything back. You can put a large chunk of the fault on the publisher around here. I hear he’s kind of a stuck up guy. Wait… No. That can’t be. That’d be me, Adam. But I did take a little hiatus this summer to work on some big projects around my house. We’re winding down on those projects and I should have a little extra time getting freed up. So if you haven’t received a response yet, one should be on its way to your inbox.
Also, we’re trying to get the ball rolling on our first year’s anthology. So if we published one of your stories in first year, you may be hearing from us soon.
I know you guys want to get back to your busy schedule, so I’ll try to wrap this up fast. We’ve got four great stories this month. “One Thousand Feet and Climbing” by Megan Engelhardt will be sure to sweep you off your feet. If you like robots in your scifi, then perhaps Jess Hyslop’s “LifeCycle” is the right match for you. Be sure to explore some lost aspects of space in “Union” by O. L. Wilson. Or maybe you can find those answers a little closer to home in “Bento’s Paradox” by Patrick Lundrigan.
And be sure to come back next month when we’ll have another set of great stories for you.
